Caldicot Community Fridge is proudly run entirely by volunteers.
Every day, our volunteers give up their own time (and often cover petrol costs out of their own pockets) to collect surplus food from our partners and distribute it to the community. They do this simply because they care.
All of the food we provide is donated for free by our incredible partner supermarkets, bakery, and wholesaler and we make sure that this food is available to the public – No referrals, no questions, no cost.
While the food itself is free, running a Community Fridge does come with unavoidable costs.
Each month we rely on donations to help cover essential items such as:
- Cleaning and hygiene supplies
- Paper bags for food distribution (we use hundreds every month)
- General running and operational costs
