Wye Gymnastics, formerly known as Caldicot Gymnastics Club was based in Caldicot Leisure Centre for many years. September 2008 saw a change in management and the club was rebranded in January 2009 and finally made their move to a full time facility in August 2011.
Galaxy Cheerleaders was set up in February 2012 training from Wye Gymnastics new facility.
In September 2017, Wye Gymnastics and Galaxy Cheerleaders merged together to become one team with one vision and they were successfully registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in March 2018.
Our aim is to provide a safe, effective and child friendly environment in which to offer members the opportunity to participate in gymnastics, cheerleading and dance at a recreational and for some, competitive level.
We provide a child centred, coach led programme and will endeavour to help you or your child to actively enjoy using their bodies in a disciplined and controlled sport. As well as this, we strive to enable our members to develop character as well as physical stamina, learning to encourage and help others, creating well rounded individuals as well as a good club and community spirit.
Participating in gymnastics and cheerleading also provides benefits for those that take part in other sports and physical pursuits as they both draw on the core qualities of all-round fitness, strength, mobility, endurance, flexibility, body control and co-ordination.
WGGC is affiliated to British and Welsh Gymnastics and has adopted the BG policies for Child Protection, Equality and Codes of Conduct. All of our coaches are qualified to the appropriate level, are all screened for their suitability to work with children and we have a team of trained welfare officers in order to ensure our members safety and well being.
